Quahog Week 2024

Quahog Week banner

Join us from May 11 to 18, 2024, for the 8th Annual Quahog Week!

Quahog Week highlights the many restaurants, markets, fishermen, and food-based businesses committed to growing Rhode Island's local food economy, with special emphasis on wild harvest clams. Restaurants and markets across Rhode Island will celebrate this sustainable resource and its year-round availability by featuring a quahog dish on their menu.

Quahog Week shines a light on our state's favorite local clam, the hard-working men and women who harvest them, and the vibrant local food industry that makes them available to consumers. Quahogging has a rich local history, supporting the livelihoods of hundreds of Rhode Island fishermen and women year-round and serving as a treasured pastime for Rhode Island families who enjoy digging their own. Demand for these delicious local clams swells in the summer months due largely to the popularity of fresh-shucked littlenecks, clam cakes, and stuffies. But they also make the perfect fare for chowders, pasta, and other dishes year-round.

Cioppino - Local RI Littleneck Clams in a tasty red tomato and garlic sauce sauteed with fresh seafood combined in a delicious stew. Served with or without pasta.

Paella ~  One of the best known dishes in Spain. Sherri's Come Along serves a ""Kicked Up"" version of Paella, called Paella ""Mixta"". It's a fantastic combination of local RI Littleneck clams with shrimp, mussels, and proteins (sometimes chicken,  chourico or kielbasa). Of course, this is combined with the famous yellow rice and a bit of spicy heat.

Portuguese Clam Zuppa ~ A delightfully tasty dish with a saute of Chorico, onions, peppers with whole RI littleneck clams! Superior flavor shines from our delicious house made fresh red tomato sauce, whole RI littleneck clams in the shell, and tones of flavor from the sauté with Chorico. Mouth wateringly delish! Served with garlic bread. Add linguine for a real treat!

Many other Clam based dishes too!
